Ted Kennedy Part deiux

Little something to lighten the mood and maybe send the senior Senator from massachusetts some good wishes.
Ted is a lifelong Red Sox fan, of course. Perhaps that is the one and only thing I have in common with the guy. In addition, his grandfather, John F. Fitzgerald, was a founding member of the Royal Rooters, probably the first Red Sox fan club, memorialized in the Dropkick Murphys brilliant song, "Tessie". The Murphs are the best thing since The Clash broke, up I think.
Enjoy the clip...even you jtf. (I know you'll quickly tell me about the 20 some wirld titles the Yanks have one, but this year...they couldn't win a triple A title.) My dream for this year...a Phillies / Red Sox World Series...Ryan Howard wins it with a walk-off in the bottom of the 19th.

Well, the gal in the video is pretty doggone cute...Not a Sox hater but not much use for them either...I still hold the Splendid Splinter in awe...read his autobiography "My Turn at Bat"...that cat was John Wayne...and he could really hit. Of course, those dopey fans booed him all the time, anyway...like .344 wasn't good enough.

You must have cried yourself to sleep every summer night in the mid-80's when Pudge was wearing those ridiculous White Sox uniforms.

The thing that really made me sick about some Red Sox fans was how a portion handled the first WS title in decades...some of them were actually asking questions like "What do I do now that they've won?...now that my fan identity isn't singularly defined as hopelessly rooting against all odds for some bunch of perpetually jinxed ne'er-do-wells?" I'll tell you what you do...BE HAPPY!!...Buy pennants and keepsake magazines and newspapers...CELEBRATE!!...geez, what a bunch of self-absorbed, cry-baby socialists.

How's that for a little witty commentary?

Simple...they switched allegiance to the Cubs.
Pudge played for the White Sox? When? Did I miss something?

I am in denial about the whole White Sox span of his career. I think deep in his heart, he is too. It's like the grassy knoll and the single bullet...it never happened.
